#1 Briana Banos is warning of the dangers of steroid cream.

She used steroid creams for the best part of three-and-a-half years to treat dry skin.

But after stopping the treatment, the skin all over her body began to burn, before oozing and flaking.

Oozing. That just sounds painful and nasty.

In seven months, the 27-year-old lost enough dead skin to fill two pint-sized jars and only left her house occasionally because of the intense side effects.

Three months her ago her skin started to recover for the first time since quitting steroids.

And she is keen to warn of the dangers of the Topical Steroid Withdrawal that left her feeling like a ‘human scab'.

She said: ‘At my worst, skin would fall off wherever I walked, it was like being a human scab and one giant ball of crust.

‘I was shedding so much I had to vacuum my bed every morning to get rid of the dead skin.

‘It started after I stopped taking steroid creams I had the drastic change from aerial performing to being bed ridden because of steroid withdrawal.'

Briana, who is from Homestead in Florida, had been prescribed topical steroids, antifungals, antibiotics, an immunosuppressant ointment, and two different antihistamines by her dermatologist.

She said that whenever she came off the treatment her skin would burn up, and that tests with and without the medication proved that steroids were the cause of these horrific reactions.

‘I'm about 80 percent healed now, dealing with localised problem areas instead of my entire body including my hands and feet.'
