Her father gave her an ultimatum saying that if she chose to stay with her boyfriend, that he wanted no further contact from her, that should would be homeless, and that he wanted her to change her name.

Stephanie's father ranted on and on, expressing his views on his daughter's relationship with a black, saying 'my belief is that interracial relationships are despicable. Vulgar and reprehensible'

The 19 year old was told that her father had left three empty suitcases for her to pack her things and leave, if she continued to date Nike, her black boyfriend.

Nike didn't want to break up Stephanie's family, and suggested they break up, but Stephanie refused. The response that the couple received has been astronomical, with most people not believing that such bigotry could still exist in 2016.
