#1 Science has confirmed something we’ve believed all along — the more educated women are, the more likely they are to drink more.

The findings come from a comprehensive study carried out at the London School of Economics in which researchers tracked the lives of thousands of 39-year-old women and men, all born in the UK during the same week in 1970.

The report concludes: "The more educated women are, the more likely they are to drink alcohol on most days and to report having problems due to their drinking patterns.

"The better-educated appear to be the ones who engage the most in problematic patterns of alcohol consumption."

The studies conducted on women with varying levels of education examined the link between drinking habits and intelligence. The findings showed that University educated women in the UK drank 86% more than women of the same age who did not go to University.

Intelligent women are more likely to be heavy drinkers and more likely to drink daily, and are also more likely to be alcoholics.

#3 Drinking related to intelligence.

Experts says there is a correlation between women’s drinking habits and their intelligence. The more educated you are, the more alcohol you are likely to be able to consume. So, if you are a woman who can easily pound them back, then chances are, you’re smart as hell.

Intelligent woman more likely to consume alcohol on a daily basis. Unfortunately they are more likely to develop an alcohol addiction and become heavy drinkers. Hopefully, this means they are smart enough to know their limit.

Though for women, heavy drinking is associated with intelligence, for men it is the other way round. Less clever men drink more, probably because men who drink a lot are more likely to be binge drinkers. However the study also found that men who abstain from drinking alcohol altogether have lower IQs.

As per www.dailybrisk.com, women who had some level of educational qualification were 71 percent more at risk to drink on routinely basis than women who had no educational attainment at all.

In addition, those with degree level education had 86 percent increased chances of becoming binge drinkers.

"Reasons for the positive association of education and drinking behaviours may include: a more intensive social life that encourages alcohol intake; a greater engagement into traditionally male spheres of life, a greater social acceptability of alcohol use and abuse; more exposure to alcohol use during formative years; and greater postponement of childbearing and its responsibilities among the better educated," explained the report.

Men drink only 1.1 times more than women today, previous studies show the difference was doubled, with men drinking 2.2 times more than women. Maybe women are drinking more because they’ve gotten smarter!

There’s still plenty of contradictory evidence surrounding the correlation between alcohol and intelligence and a number of studies only focus on male drinking habits. It’s unlikely that drinking more will actually make you more intelligent, but at least now if anyone tells you that you drink too much you can tell them it’s a sign that you have a high IQ.

So, go ahead and enjoy multiple drinks on your next bar outing. If you can handle it, then you’re smart enough for it. Male or female, studies don’t lie, we all love to drink. Cheers!
