There have been a lot of great shows in our past. Television nowadays is filled with sex and scandal, but back in the '60s, it seems all shows were family-friendly. These shows are from the '60s, but many of us '80s babies remember them fondly because we watched re-runs with our families. How many of them do you remember?
You Will Definitely Feel Old If You Remember These Shows From The 60s
Mr. Ed
This show ran from 1961 to 1966. Every single one of the show's 143 episodes were filmed in black and white. It was a show about a talking horse, and we all loved it.
My Favorite Martian
This show ran from 1963 to 1966. It was a show about Uncle Martin who also happened to be a martian. His spaceship crashed in Los Angeles leaving him stranded on Earth.
I Dream Of Jeannie
This was a fantasy sitcom that starred Barbar Eden who is a genie. Larry Hagman plays an astronaut who ends up being her master. The show ran from 1965 to 1970, but you can still catch re-runs of the show today.
The Munsters
The Munsters was a popular show for kids and parents. It depicted a family of monsters that are trying to live like everyday people even though they are thought to be a freak show by everyone else. The show ran from 1964 to 1966.
Leave It To Beaver
This family show ran from 1957 to 1963. It followed the life of Beaver Cleaver and his adventures in life. While everyone loved Beaver, I believe that Eddie Haskell was the best character on the show. He was such a trouble maker.
Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
This show was a spin-off of the Andy Griffith show. It ran from 1964 to 1969. The show followed a bumbling Marine named Gomer Pyle. It was nice to have a show about our armed forces that was not too serious all of the time.
Green Acres
Green Acres was about a couple who leave New York in order to live on a farm. Unlike some of the other shows from this time, this show was filmed in color from start to finish. They had a six-year run from 1965 to 1971.
Gilligan's Island
This was probably one of my favorite shows from this time period. It is about a group of people who get stranded on a deserted island after a storm shipwrecks their tour boat. Gilligan is a bumbling fool who is always getting himself in funny situations. What is really special about this show is that all of the members of the cast has their own storyline and got a lot of airtime. The show ran from 1964 to 1967, but you can still catch re-runs today.
Bewitched
This is another fantasy series. It is a story about a witch who marries an ordinary man. No matter how hard she tries, she just cannot resist using her powers for everyday chores or problems that they are facing. The show ran from 1964 to 1972.
Bonanza
This western television series ran from 1959 to 1973. It is the longest-running show on our list, and for good reason. It followed Ben Cartwright and his sons who help their community while also working and defending their own ranch. It was a true picture of how things were back in those kinds of days.
