Now, 31-year-old Claire Barnett of East Yorkshire, has been sentenced to serve 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to child cruelty.

According to the police investigation, Josh Barnett died after falling into a lake while playing outside his house. The court heard that Claire Barnett is a danger to any child for whom she is responsible.
Claire Barnett was looking at her phone at the time of the child's death. After the child was in the lake, Claire Barnett tried to save him, but he died in a hospital later that day.

The court also heard how Claire Barnett let her child play on the road. Neighbors who saw the child playing in middle of the road, contacted social services after he was nearly hit by a car.
Barnett pleaded guilty to four counts of child cruelty. The judge warned Claire Barnett that if she has more children, they will be taken away from her.
