She was pregnant with her 8th child when she felt the labor pains in the year 2000. In Rio Talea, Mexico, the medical facilities were not that widespread and hence she knew she had no chances of making to the hospital. She had already lost her last child due to this. This haste was understandable in her therefore which made her take the step.
To make it a little easy for her after 12 hours of labor pains already, she drank three glasses of hard liquor which was the only option she has to be able to bear the pain.
