Dogs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, arguably more than any other species in the world! For the last thousands of years, we’ve bred dogs to create breeds with different colors, coats, shapes, and sizes.
For the greater part of history, purebreds were the ideal canine type. But lately, mixed-breed dogs are rising and taking over. As you’re about to see, these dogs are just as awesome if not better than their purebred counterparts!
Take a look at these 11 adorable dog cross-breeds.
1. Gerberian Shepsky
In addition to being a stately and smart dog, this mixed-breed dog has a super-fun name to say. It's part German Shepherd and part Siberian Husky.
2. Bulldog Shepherd
An English Bulldog mixed with a German Shepherd yields a very interesting-looking result. The crossing of these breeds can help alleviate some of the health problems that they respectively have.
3. Schnoodle
This diminutive dog wants nothing more than to be held and petted. It's part Schnauzer and part Poodle, but it's 100 percent adorable.
4. Border Beagle
This rare mutt is a cross between two of America's favorite breeds, the Beagle and the Border Collie. With the smarts of a Border Collie and the low howl of a Beagle, this is one fun pup.
5. German Chow
This fearsome guard dog is half German Shepherd, half Chow Chow. German Chow's require strict training, but they'll be your best friend and protector.
6. Labsky
This cross between a Labrador Retriever and Siberian Husky is sometimes called a Siberian Retriever. With piercing blue eyes and an aching desire to fetch, it's hard not to fall in love with this dog.
7. Corgipoo
If you thought Corgis couldn't get any cuter, then you've never seen one mixed with a Toy Poodle. These dogs may be small, but they have the brains and composure of a big dog.
8. Basset Pei
Meet the puppy that looks like an old man. By crossing a Basset Hound with a Chinese Shar Pei, breeders created an adorably wrinkle-covered dog.
9. Chiweenie
This cross between a Dachshund and a Chihuahua won't stave off home intruders, but he's still a head turner.
10. Pitsky
This pup is part pit bull, part Husky. They frequently have a Husky's beautiful blue eyes and playful personality mixed with a pit's loyalty.
11. German Pei
The protective personality of both the German shepherd and the shar-pei makes them ideal watch or guard dogs.
