13 Crazy Facts About 'Who's The Boss?'

Remember Tony Danza? Good ol' Tony is an absolute GIANT when it comes to sitcom actors. From his breakout in Taxi to the fan favorite that is Who's The Boss, Danza is known as one of the most likeable guys on television. Seeing as I was always more of a Who's The Boss fan, I thought I'd try to rustle up some interesting behind-the-scenes facts about the show, and lucky for you I was pretty successful!
Here are few of the best ones.
#1 Mona was originally supposed to be Angela's older sister.
The producers wanted a free-spirited older sister to be in the show, but they had a very hard time finding the right person.
#2 Frank Sinatra made an epic cameo.
Apparently Tony Danza's mother didn't believe that her son was that big of a celebrity until he was able to introduce her to Sinatra on the set.
#3 The show had a different title in pre-production.
Alyssa Milano says she actually showed up to audition for a show called You're The Boss.
#4 The show had its own softball team.
Danza was the pitcher, which is funny because his character in the show is a retired second basemen.
#5 Tony Danza had to do community service before starting the show.
After a fight with a bouncer at a local nightclub, Tony Danza was sentenced to 250 hours of community service.
#6 Even though the show was set in Connecticut, the house in the opening credits was in Rye, New York.

#7 Alyssa Milano wanted to leave the show to go to school.
In the show's seventh season, Milano was adamant on leaving to go to school, but the producers somehow managed to convince her to stay.

Tony became very close with the child actors on the show and acted as a mentor for many years.
#10 Billy was kicked off the show to help make room for Tony and Angela's romance.
For the final season, Tony's adopted child was written off the show.

The show was called The Upper Hand.
#13 Tony and Angela were supposed to get married.
The plan was to marry them halfway through the final season, however it was scratched in post-production.
#14 Mona was supposed to get her own spinoff.
There were two episodes in the third season that were supposed to act as the pilot for Mona's own series. When the producers changed their minds, they had to write a new episode that brought Mona back into the series.
#15 The cast used to get lots of gifts from the fans of the show.
One Fairfield University fan actually sent Tony a shirt to wear on the show, and he did!
