Victoire Macon Dauxerre

Dauxerre was discovered on the streets of Paris and quickly thrust into the high-pressure vacuum that is the modeling world. Within months, her diet consisted of a meager three apples a day and diet soda, and maybe a small piece of chicken or fish each week. Though she says that she was never instructed to lose weight, the inference was clear. It was only months before she'd shrunken four dress sizes and weighed in at 103 pounds, though she measured 5 feet, 9 inches tall. In her early twenties, Dauxerre even had osteoporosis. In the midst of it all, she quit the industry and went on to write a book about her experiences.

Dauxerre is back to donning a size 8 (US) and trying to prevent others from reliving her experiences.

Zayn Malik

According to his book, "Zayn," the musician began skipping meals as a consequence of his hectic schedule. The disorder wasn't related to concerns about his figure, he assured readers, but it did become a serious point of concern.

We're happy Zayn seems to be doing much better!

Throughout those years, she was both bulimic and anorexic.

Lovato has been open about her experiences with bulimia and anorexia, even attending a treatment facility when she was 18.

Though she admitted to having struggled with insecurities about her body since, as we all do, she's reclaimed her determination to live and do so happily, saying, "It's a struggle I'll probably have to deal with for the rest of my life. But I have so much life to live; I don't want to waste it."

She was the first African-American model to appear on the cover of "Vogue," but it wasn't all smooth sailing for Johnson, who admits to having starved herself to remain "fabulous." In her book, "The Face That Changed It All," she confessed, "I was eating nothing, zero."

She did allow herself, "black coffee, a sip of broth if things got tough, and in the evening, a glass of champagne as a pick me up." Water wasn't even considered, as it was believed to be "fattening."

Zoe Kravitz

I felt pressured," she said to Complex. The disorders began when she was only a teen and continued into adulthood.

Shawn Johnson

There was a point when Olympian Shawn Johnson was eating as little as 700 calories in a day or no carbohydrates.
