According to a survey conducted by Match.com, it takes almost no time at all for the average couple to kiss (usually on the first date), 1-2 weeks to sleep together but not stay the night, and nearly 3.5 months to call it official. But when it comes to those three little words, 'I love you,' couples usually take about 144 days, or between 4-5 months.
Now, all of these are considered milestones because so few of us actually get there. A huge part of dating is rejection. Let's take a look at Tinder as an example.
In 2014, the New York Times published facts on the dating app: while there were about 1 billion profile swipes per day, there were only about 12 million matches made. If you do a simple calculation, that's hundreds of millions of rejections, but we're sure it's more complicated than that.
But when you finally do land a date or meet someone special, you might still experience rejection even if they were initially attracted to you. In fact, this can happen at any point in the relationship. Just know that you're not alone (unless you're the perpetually the heartbreaker, never on the other side).
