Trevor Sullivan, 15, from Detroit, Michigan, is seen on camera hooked up to breathing tubes and heart monitors as he lies still on his hospital bed.
Trevor fell ill back in 2014 with what he thought was a cold. After several trips to the doctor, Trevor and his family discovered that he was suffering from heart failure - and that he needed a new organ.
It was in November 2015 that a heart became available for Trevor, and his surgery was immediately scheduled.
#3 Through deep breaths, the boy realises he is awake, and that his has survived the major procedure.
Trevor's father asks the teenager how he is feeling after his major operation.
Through tears he replies: "I feel amazing. Just amazing. I've never felt so good."
"I'm so happy. I've been waiting so long. I can breathe again and talk."
Unsurprisingly, the footage has already touched several hundred YouTube viewers since it was uploaded yesterday, with several leaving supportive comments for the young boy.
