FSIS advises that all consumers safely prepare their meat products, including fresh and frozen, and only consume meat that has been cook to a temperature of 160F to kill off the bacteria.
#1 Huge Ground Beef Recall By Federal Food & Safety
The United States Department of Agriculture has recalled 167,427 pounds of ground beef due to possible E. Coli contamination.
#2 The Recall Is Being Linked To E.Coli Bacteria
A meat company based in Nebraska is recalling 167,427 pounds of ground beef that might be tainted with E. coli bacteria.
These items were shipped to 100's of retail locations nationwide, including Walmart, Krogers, Giant, and Piggly Wiggly.
#3 Products Are Marked With "EST. 20420"
All of the ground beef products were produced by All American Meats, Inc. on Oct. 16, 2015.
The recalled products have the establishment number "EST. 20420" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
#4 All Meats, Either Frozen Or Fresh Have a Sell By Date Of Nov. 3
The recalled meat was produced on Oct. 16, and it was sold in either 60-pound or 80-pound packages.
All the meat that is being recalled had a sell-by date of Nov. 3 and establishment number 20420 in the USDA inspection stamp.
If not returned to the place of purchase, FSIS is urging that the meats are cooked at 160°F to make sure the bacteria is killed in the products.
You will need to use a meat thermometer to ensure the proper temperature is reached.
