Asking people random things. 20 years ago someone would have told you to "look it up", meaning to find a book or something. Five years later, you'd have been told to "go on the website with the weird name and type it in and see what they say". Now it's simply "Google it".

The internet is a land of no judgement so people can say what they like (we know there's more judgement on the internet than in the Westboro baptist church in reality, but when it started everyone was still naïve to the world wide web).

Conclusion

People were weird enough already without the anonymity of the internet. Now we have to put up with the sort of person that contemplates waking up as a chicken nugget.
