While typical foundation is created by blending blue, black, and white pigmentation, Adorn claims to be able to expand upon the infinite spectrum of shades within these colors. The foundation itself consists of ingredients like anti-wrinkle peptide Matrixyl 3000, Litchiderm, sodium hyaluronate, and even green tea, and is supposedly free from sulphates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, and Triclosan.

The foundation's ‘skin-smart' blend is meant to suit all skin types oily, dry, and combination. The pen can be reused to deal with slight variations in skin tone with changing seasons and exposure to sun. Cartridges can be refilled and replaced for under $20, which is less than most high-end foundation brands. The device is powered by rechargeable batteries designed last for a few weeks per charge, depending on frequency of use.
