4-Year-Old Has To Wear A Helmet For His Medical Condition So The Whole Family Decides To Wear One In Support

4-month-old Jonas Gutierrez from San Antonio, Texas, was diagnosed with a medical condition called Plagiocephaly, a condition in which the skull bones infuses incorrectly, also known as the flat head syndrome.

The doctors suggested that Jonas wear a helmet to reshape his head and that too he would have to wear from a period of 3 to 6 months.

Seeing his younger brother wearing a helmet for his condition, Jonas's 3-year-old sister couldn't bear to see her brother feeling left out. So, in support of her brother, she came up with a brilliant idea of making it a fun thing and decided to wear her bike helmet just like her brother.

The rest of the family seeing her efforts, were quick to step in and become part of her plan to provide support to young Jonas. So, the whole family decided to wear helmets.

According to their mother Shayna Gutierrez, she said, “She’s like, ‘Hey! I have a [bicycle] helmet too, and Daddy has a helmet. So she just got excited and went and dug them all out.”

Jonas's father, Gary Gutierrez, told the local news, "He had an oversized head in the womb, and he sleeps really well, but he sleeps on that one spot. He was constantly sleeping on it so it just kept getting worse.”

The picture of the family together wearing their head gear was shared by Gutierrez's family member on Twitter and since then the picture has gone viral on various social media platforms and has made news all over the Internet.

People from all over the world have replied back to the tweet which is filled with the messages of love, compassion and support for the family. One of the users tweeted that this is the greatest thing that he has ever seen on Twitter while another one wrote, "Ok, as someone who grew up having multiple reconstructive surgeries and head shaping, this pic right here? Makes me so damn happy."

As if the messages were not heartwarming enough, some people even shared lovely pictures of their babies wearing helmets and along with it posted messages of support and love. One user posted a picture of her niece and nephew wearing helmets and wrote, "My niece and nephew are cute helmet babies too."

The infant developed plagiocephaly, is a condition that has a ratio of 1 in every 5 and through early medical intervention can be treated fairly with no serious medical consequences.
