4-Year-Old Hilariously Shuts Down Mom Asking For His Blessing To Get Married

Jasmine Nicole Brannans of De Soto, Missouri has two adorable children from a previous relationship. After dating and falling in love with her boyfriend, Ian Faulkner, she was thrilled when Ian got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. She said yes! Ian and Jasmine were so excited to share the news of her engagement with her son.

Jasmine was left shocked by the four-year-old’s stern. Thankfully, they had a friend nearby taking a video of the moment, because little Asher’s reaction is flat out hilarious. The happy couple sat down in the living room and asked Asher to come admire mommy’s new engagement ring.

Attempting to explain the significance of her new diamond ring, little Asher remains in a state of denial insisting engagement only means keeping the ring on "all night". Asher was not a big fan of mom’s new ring.

Jasmine asks,"Do you know what an engagement ring means? It means before you get married."

When corrected and told it means that Ian wants to marry Jasmine, Asher sweetly proclaims, "But I want to marry you," before scolding Ian with a ‘No’ at his plea to let him walk his beloved mother down the aisle.

Even Ian reminds the little boy that he treats Jasmine well, Asher is not convinced!

Not surprised at her comedian son’s hilarious outbursts, Jasmine said,"Asher is a charismatic, charming mommy’s boy – he’s the class clown but also wears his heart on his sleeve. After Ian proposed, we had about ten minutes before Asher came crashing in asking questions."

She added,"My bonus [step] mum started recording, because – knowing Asher – she was sure he’d have something hilarious come out of his mouth. Asher’s obsession with marriage came when his father got married in November and it’s sparked his interest since then. Asher has always been a mommy’s boy, I expected a reaction like this out of him, he becomes very territorial over me. He’s my best friend and he knows it. Asher is still convinced that I’ll change my mind and marry him anyway."

She further said,"Despite his reaction, Asher loves Ian and the first time he told him so, it was a very sweet moment. Ian has helped the kids bake bread, spell their names and has stepped in and helped in the everyday role that Asher lacked in a male figure and Asher loves him for it. I’ve always thought he was the funniest kid around and it’s incredible to see others witness what a little joy he is too."
