I made the decision in middle school that, although I would never have children of my own, I do want to be a grandmother. My grandmothers were the ones I looked up to the most and I wanted to be just like them when I grew up—well, not quite the "raising children" part. Even after all these years, I still consider myself fortunate to have my grandmothers close by for cuddles, stimulating conversations, and the greatest strawberry jam anybody has ever tasted.
