There's nothing worse than an ingrown toenail. Luckily, they're easy enough to treat.

Next, soak your foot in an Epsom salt solution for half an hour.

Get warm or hot water and put some Epsom salt in it. Place your feet in the vessel for 15-30 minutes every day. This will help you soften your nails and stop the ingrown toenail from getting an infection.

Dry your foot with a clean towel, then gently trim the affected nail.

Be very careful when you reach the place where your nail is ingrown. Trim it as straight as possible without pointy portions at the edges. Rounded nails are more likely to turn to ingrown nails.

Using your tweezers, gently insert a small hunk of cotton underneath the nail.

Raise the toenail just a bit, not too high and then place a cotton ball or a small piece of it between the skin and the nail. This will help you stop the ingrown toenail from appearing once again. Use the tweezers to place the cotton perfectly.

Afterward, apply an ointment that promises to prevent any further infections. You may utilize Neosporin and then use a bandage.

Plan to wear open-toed sandals for a few weeks.

Do not let them lose air and when you are inside your house, do not wear socks or shoes and provide your feet some air.

Change the cotton out every day. As the nail grows away from the skin, you'll start to get relief.

If you have done everything correctly then you will see that your ingrown toenail will heal in a couple of weeks. Place a new cotton every day until then.
