#1 Never check your bag to make sure your order is correct while still in line.

This is incredibly rude to the people behind you who want to get their food and go. The correct thing to do would be to pull off to the side and check.

#2 Never tell the cashier that they messed up your order.

Your beef is with the cook, not the cashier. Simply go inside and try to be polite. They might even fix the mistake.

#3 Don't bang on the drive-thru window.

This seems like common sense but you shouldn't do this. Cashiers take thousands of people's order every day. They know you are waiting. Don't be obnoxious about it.

#4 Don't continue your order at the window.

You should complete your order well before you get to the window. Windows are for paying and receiving orders.

#5 Don't ask them to throw away your trash.

It's against the rules and it's pretty rude. Just don't do it.

#6 Don't ask for refills.

Refills are only for customers who dine in. This policy was made to prevent people from refilling the same cup over and over again for free once they have left the restaurant.

#7 Don't talk softly at the drive-thru speaker.

Between the wind and other background noise, it can be hard to hear your order correctly if you don't speak loudly. Make your orders loud and clear.

#8 Don't ask for something if they tell you it's in the bag.

Listen attentively. Don't tell them they forgot to give you straws when they clearly said the straws were in the bag. It's not their fault you didn't listen.

Follow these rules and you will have a flawless drive-thru experience. Okay maybe not flawless but it will be much smoother.
