A Policeman Finds This Couple Living In The Woods. What He And The Locals Then Do... I’m Stunned.

Evelyn Adams and David "Rocky" Barlett, both 55, have been together for 22 years, and are madly in love, but life has not always been kind to them. For the last 3 years they have been living in a woodland in South Tampa, Florida and before that they survived for 6 months living under a bridge!

Officer Daniel McDonald, from the South Tampa Police Department, is the department's homeless initiative officer and it's been his mission to help the couple find a home. In the officer's eyes, if they married they may be granted housing faster. Unfortunately, the couple were unable to afford the $93.50 marriage licensing fee. Evelyn said "It's not because of the paper. I could've done without it. But I wanna do it right."

Evelyn is unable to work due to a medical condition and Rocky is unemployed, so the couple struggle to make ends meet. Rocky said he would work but nobody wants to hire him due to his age and heart condition.

When news got around, however, about Officer McDonald's mission, the community really stepped up to the plate. Owner of Cross Creek Ranch, Bonnie McSharry, contacted Officer McDonald and offered to host the entire ceremony! But the generosity didn't stop there: a wedding dress was donated for Evelyn and a suit for Rocky, food and beverages were donated, even the flowers! In total, the locals donated around $20000 in a variety of services.
This homeless couple celebrated their dream wedding on April 1, due to the love and kindness of the community.

Evelyn said "It has just been a dream come true. No one's ever done this for me and Rocky."
Evelyn and Rocky had been homeless for the last 6 years, and are not used to having people do things for them.
And the good news doesn't stop there: Now married and 'on the fast-track for approved-housing', the couple are due to move into their very own apartment on Monday.
"I dream of this apartment everyday," Evelyn said of their upcoming home. "I know where everything is going."
