Tabea, a sweet but homeless pup, was in dire need of help and kindness more than ever.
Battling malnutrition and weakness, she roamed the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, in search of compassion.
One hopeful day, she arrived at a family's porch, silently pleading that the occupants would notice her and offer the help she desperately needed.
Finding a blanket on the porch, she curled up on it, trying to make herself as small and unobtrusive as possible.

Good Humans Take Care Of Her
The heart of a kind woman living in the house sank when she saw the pup.
The sight of the tired and profoundly sad dog moved her deeply.
Without hesitation, she reached out to the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, informing them of the dog in desperate need on her porch.
Donna Lochmann and her team quickly sprang into action, jumping into their rescue Jeep and heading to the address provided to save the dog.
Upon their arrival, the condition of the dog left them heartbroken. The poor animal's body was weak and marred with scars.

Seeing the rescuers, the dog couldn't quite believe that help had finally come.
Hopelessness was evident in her eyes; it seemed she had lost faith in herself.

Lochmann gently spoke to her, offering soothing strokes on her head to comfort her.
With a leash now around her neck, the pup, who they named Tabea, decided to trust and follow her rescuers.
They carefully loaded her into the Jeep and transported her to the safety of the shelter.

Getting A Ton Of Love And The Necessary Care
At the shelter, the staff showered her with cuddles.
Initially bewildered, Tabea gradually began to understand that she was in the company of kind humans and that she was finally safe.

Her endearing nature quickly won over the hearts of her new shelter friends, who lavished her with affection.
As her heart began to heal, Tabea received veterinary care and was diagnosed with an ear infection.

Further examination revealed that part of her tail was broken.
Regrettably, amputation was necessary, but the vet provided exceptional care, and Tabea's recovery progressed well.

Feeling the love around her, Tabea became affectionate and trusting.
However, just as she was getting better, she developed an autoimmune condition affecting her neck and back, causing her discomfort.
Despite this new challenge, Tabea's spirit remained unbroken, fighting alongside the shelter staff who supported her every step of the way.

"She gave her steroids, which thankfully worked and now she is up and moving and cuddling again," shared the rescue on Instagram.
Tabea then moved to a foster home where she received abundant love and continued on her path to healing.

On December 21st, 2022, the rescue announced heartwarming news.
Tabea had found her forever home.
Her new mom showers her with endless love, making Tabea feel treasured and adored, as she always deserved to be.
The delightful dog is now overjoyed, unable to contain her happiness.
