A Teen Was Bullied Over How She Looked In Her Prom Dress But The Internet Stepped Up

#2 Tayja Jones shared pictures of herself on social media, and she got flooded with negative, nasty comments.

She told Fox 29.

"People I didn't know were just like, ‘That dress is not for her. She looked like a fat something'it was just really hurtful. I was so confident the day before, and it just changed my view of myself."

#3 Her mother Natina Parker said,

"She was just really depressed and sad. She doesn't want to go out the house. She doesn't want to go to school. She doesn't want to go nowhere."

#4 Thankfully, the teen was eventually showered with positive messages from people far and wide who wanted her to know she looked and is beautiful.

"All those shares were just positive. My twitter, so many messages of people like all over the world, different states, different countries"

"This beautiful. Baby girl slayed prom. She's cute as ever. She is gorgeous. She has her own unique style and shape. We are all God's creatures perfect in his image. Shaming someone not only brings them down but brings yourself down with them. Spread love not discrimination."

The hashtag #teamtayja sprang up on Twitter, she started getting thousands of likes and shares on her pictures, with warm messages of support.

#10 One artist even made a painting of her as a the realest prom queen ever.

#12 Tayja is struggling to believe in herself again but she has a message for others being bullied.

"You're not the only person. You should know who you are inside and the outside shouldn't affect the inner you. Just stay strong," she said.

Meanwhile, she's unsure about whether she will go her senior prom but her mother says she hopes to change her mind by this time next year.
