A Woman Who Has 800 Tattoos Is Finding It Difficult To Get A Job Because Of Her Appearance

Melissa Sloan, a 46-year-old woman from Wales, United Kingdom, used to work as a toilet cleaner. However, she has been unable to secure a similar job due to the tattoos on her face and body, which employers seem to be judging negatively.

“I can’t get a job,” Sloan bluntly told the Daily Star. “I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live, and they won’t have me because of my tattoos.”

“People have said I have never had a job in my life, but I have had one once and it didn’t last long,” the mother-of-two added. “If someone offered me a job tomorrow, I would go and work, I would take that offer.”

Indeed, Melissa Sloan, a mother of two, has an impressive 800 tattoos, which has led her to believe that she holds the title of the 'world's most tattooed person'.

You might be wondering how frequently Melissa gets new tattoos, given that she already has so many.

Well, astonishingly, she gets three new tattoos every week.

At the age of 20, Sloan got her first tattoo, and from that point on, she quickly developed a strong attraction to them.

Despite facing challenges with finding a job, the woman from Wales admitted to The Mirror that she remains dedicated to her tattoo addiction.

Melissa's tattoos have had repercussions on her children's lives as well. Last year, she had to watch her children's nativity play from outside the school window because she was not permitted to enter the premises.

"No Christmas parties and when I go to my child's school, I don't get invited," she told The Mirror.

Additionally, Melissa has been banned from her local pub due to her appearance.

Despite these challenges, Melissa has accepted her situation and claims there's nothing she can do to change it now. She remains resolute in her decision to keep getting tattoos and intends to continue doing so until she reaches the age of 70, if possible.

"Every bit of skin will be covered even if I’m turning blue, my face is already turning blue. I look like a Smurf," she told The Mirror.

Some tattoo parlours have even banned Melissa from getting more ink.

Every part of Melissa's head is adorned with tattoos, and her love for tattoos grew to a point where she started tattooing over her original designs. Eventually, she covered her entire face twice.

In recent times, Melissa has taken it a step further by adding a third layer of tattoos, firmly believing that she holds the Guinness World Record for being the most tattooed person in the world.

She said: "I'm trying to get into the Guinness Book of Records."

"I've got three layers on my face, I probably have the most tattoos in the world, and if not then at the rate I'm going on I probably will have in the end. I keep going over and over them."
