#1 Happy fairytale life

Amanda lived a happy fairytale life with her husband. She had a loving husband and a beautiful house in a lovely community. She never imagined anything could go wrong in her life. The couple had also been trying for a baby and were left ecstatic after learning about the good news finally. 

The future looked amazing for the couple. Unfortunately, life had other plans for Amanda and she had no idea that her world would come crashing down like this. 

#2 Everything going according to the plan

Amanda and her husband had been trying for a couple for the past 3 years. They had been through so many ups and downs. She thought that time will only make their bond stronger.

But she was wrong. They had even been working on renovating the house. Now that the house looked beaitufl and child on its way, things couldn't get any better.

#3 How could her loving husband ditch her like this?

It seemed like a perfect dream, one from which Amanda never wanted to wake up. This is probably the reason why she was left shocked to the core by what came in her life next.  Everything in her life vanished within the blink of her eye and all she could do was bear the pain.

She didn't find anything fair. The tragic news broke her. Her self-confidence and her self-esteem were shattered. How could her loving husband betray her like this?

#4 Anna was shocked to see her best friend's condition

As Amanda was seething with the pain of her husband's betrayal, she received a phone call from her best friend that she is coming to pick her up. When Anna came, she could not help but notice that all the flower beds on the property were dead or withered.

She was left worried because Amanda always took good care of them. They had a secret code, which involves six knocks on the door. Anna was taken aback when her best friend finally opened the door!

#5 Anna knew something terrible has happened

Anna knew that her friend Amanda was the one who always liked to keep herself clean. She made sure to keep herself dolled up even when she was pregnant. So what happened that made her friend look like this? 

Her mascara was smudged and her dark circles covered her whole face. Her nose was red and her face told a story that something terrible happened. 

After letting Anna in, she went to the couch. “What happened?” her friend asked after patting her face with a wet cloth. Amanda tried to push her off. Anna then asked, “Amanda… where’s John?”

#6 The heartbreaking truth

“You know how we’ve been trying for three years now, Anna?” she replied. Amanda could not stop her tears from falling.

Amanda couldn't control her tears, and sobbing bitterly, she told her best friend, “Well, it’s all over.” She wiped her eyes on her sleeves. “I don’t know what to do,” she went on, her voice shaking.

When Amanda was telling Anna about the painful truth, her mind was still taking time in registering the truth that her husband has abandoned her. She couldn't believe it after he told her that he will leave. She took it as a simple threat but was left taken aback after he followed through. 

This puzzled her greatly. Not once did she think that he wanted out of the life they have together. When she woke up, she was on her own and 36 weeks into her pregnancy. She was also drowning in debts that they got for the renovation.

She had used all their life saving for the renovation and the couple had already decided upon the renovation long before. They even chose everything together. So what really went wrong?

Amanda could not understand what changed for him. As you can imagine, she was incredibly hurt by his decision to leave. There was no sign that he was unhappy, so why did he leave her like that?

The pain and shock of betrayal had left her numb. She was not only broke but heavily pregnant with the child of the man who walked out of her without looking back once.

She couldn't think straight. How to deal with the pain and think about the baby and the growing debts. It was all too much. Coming to terms with the harsh truth of her life, Amanda relied on her best friend Anna to help her find her way back to the right path. 

#10 The heartbreak left her broken

Anna tried to keep her emotions in check after learning about her friend's story. She tried her best to become a strong support for Amanda. As her best friend, she watched her experience her first heartbreak, her wedding day jitters, and her first fight with her husband.

And now nothing compared to the pain Amanda was going through. The only thing she was doing was go to the toilet or eat a little something. 

For five weeks, she stayed inside the house. Anna found it hard to lift her mood, but she did not plan to give up on her best friend.

Amanda felt relieved that at least Anna was holding her during these tough times. Anna was ready to become her rock. She made sure that Amanda knew that she won't abandon her during this precious time.

She would drag her to take a bath, wash up and cook her food and take her out, paint her nails and make her feel better. But it was now time for some action, but what could Anna really do?

#12 The pain of talking about her tragedy on live television was too much to bear

People would Anna's plan all sorts of names but she knew it would save Amanda. Anna had everything that she needed to make it work. She dragged her friend out of her bed for the final time.

Amanda was left taken aback after finding herself in a house full of strangers. She was confused, in pain, and feeling scared when she talked about her life's tragedy on live television. Anna then told her best friend to turn around and gesture to the monitor that was lying right behind her.

#13 Amanda couldn't believe her eyes on what she was seeing

As Amanda moved behind, she was confused about what she was seeing. She had no idea what her best friend was trying to do. What was Anna showing her?

Nothing made sense, but at least it distracted Amanda for a while away from her problems. She kept an eye on the screen to figure out what exactly was going on. The people were going into a house. She was horrified when it dawned on her that it was hers.

#14 Was Amanda wrong in trusting Anna so much?

Even before she could react, instinctively, she placed her hand on her belly upon recognizing her own house on the monitor. Amanda sensed something fishy and wanted to know what was going on in Anna's mind. 

The entire time, she trusted her best friend. Did she put too much trust in her? All of a sudden, she felt a stab of fear at the thought that Anna was on his side. It felt like she could no longer trust anyone.

#15 Everything was a mess

The men on screen walked into the front door of the house and showed the world the mess. They captured everything, from propped-up mattresses to boxes strewn all across the floor.

Amanda's husband left her in a situation where she had forgotten about the house completely.

Looking at the strangers on-screen, Amanda was feeling ashamed over her house's condition. Inside, she felt distressed, fearful, and embarrassed once they got to her untidy kitchen.

Amanda was annoyed that Anna did not even warn her that people were coming over. One of them went to the oven and opened its door. The camera then revealed something inside. This was the moment she figured out what was really going on.

Inside the oven, Amanda saw a wad of cash. She couldn't believe her eyes at what she was seeing.

Still, this did not explain what was going on. What was the money doing there? Did her husband leave it for them? Anna was smiling as she saw how Amanda reacted.

It was actually Anna who planned it all. She wrote to KIIS 1065, the local radio station, and asked the hosts if they would grant her best friend the opportunity to be featured in their “give back” segment.

Once Kyle and Jackie O learned about her story, they agreed to step in and help out. Amanda was glad to learn that this did not have anything to do with her husband, the man who ruined her life!

Amanda and Anna were invited to the studio as guests. Meanwhile, Amanda had no idea what was really going on.

Once she got there, the hostess shared that they were having a “Give Back segment.” The special guest had no idea what this meant. They went on to welcome Anna as the person who got in touch with them to make this incredible story happen.

Amanda told her painful story to the world and shared what she went through while trying to get pregnant.

She got the chance to share her story and told Kyle and Jackie O that the hardest part had been the uncertainty.

“It’s been about five weeks since it happened,” she said, talking about how her husband left her. “And the biggest thing is just the shock, I guess because it wasn’t really what we planned, or what I planned.

#21 The show hosts couldn't help but show sympathy on Amanda's situation

Jackie showed sympathy for what she had to go through. The poor woman had to go through so much trauma while pregnant.

“I really wanna keep the place and raise my child there, but…” Amanda said. She did not finish the statement, which only goes to show that she knew she could not afford it on her own.

#22 Something needs to be done to help sort out Amanda's problem

The hosts knew it was a difficult situation and with a baby on the way, something needs to be done as soon as possible. So, they got in touch with local businesses who agreed to help her out!

It was their goal to make the situation at least a little easier for her. Thanks to the show, the unbelievable happened. The Middlesex Academy Learning Centre donated $10,000 to help out with her mortgage! In the meantime, Amanda did not have to worry about going homeless. This was not the end of the generosity just yet.

#23 She does not have to worry about keeping her house clean anymore

Amanda was left taken aback when one team entered her house and showed her a vacuum cleaner from a local business called Scrubb Online Cleaning Service.

It was a sign that they would clean her house and keep it all in check for the next six months. With this, Amanda did not have to worry about keeping the house clean.

#24 She didn't have to worry about the food too

Now comes the kitchen, So as they pulled open the fridge door, Amanda was left speechless to see it was stocked with food from Eat Fit Foods.

Amanda learned that she would get fresh meals from them every day for three months. The groceries were already taken care of, so she could focus on her baby.

#25 She cried out as she felt the burden from her shoulders lifitng

This didn't end here. Amanda also found a baby gear on her table. The whole thing was worth a whopping $4000 and included a car seat, baby monitor, change table, and stroller.

Aside from that, Baby Village even gave her a $1,000 voucher that she can use on a baby photography session.

Amanda had no words to thank everyone at this point. She was overwhelmed.  She could not help but cry at their generosity. For the first time in weeks, she felt the burden disappear from her shoulders.

She was crying bitterly now. But these were the tears of joy and gratitude. All this time, the fear for the future had been eating her alive.

It would have been so hard to cope as a new mother and homeowner all by herself. She had no idea how to support her baby, but her best friend turned things around for her.

“I can’t tell you how much this means to me…” she said. “This means I don’t have to move!” It was quite touching to see her say this through her sobs. It was clear that she appreciated it.

Amanda had no idea her husband would leave her debt-ridden in the midway and with a child on its way, nothing made sense for Amanda anymore.

Luckily for her, she was not actually on her own. The community was willing to help her out! She could now unpack and settle in her home ahead of the birth of the baby.

They are known in the Land Down Under for their “givebacks.” Anna reached out to them in the hopes of helping her friend. It is a good thing that she did!

#31 Amanda's story went viral

Amanda was filled with both shock and gratitude. Kyle and Jackie O posted the video on YouTube. It went viral right away!

The clip came out in 2015. At the moment, the video has more than five million views. The caption said, “When we heard about Amanda’s story, we had to give her a Giveback she would never forget.”

#32 The story went on something like this

“Amanda and her husband were trying for a child for 3 years with many failures. Finally, she managed to conceive and she is now 36 weeks pregnant with her first child,” the caption said.

It went on, “They purchased their first home and finally moved in around 2 months ago after renovating.”

The caption went on, “Everything was looking up for Amanda and her young family.

However, everything was messed up when a tragedy struck and Amanda's husband decided to walk out on her and their unborn child leaving her debt ridden. What did Amanda discover when we put a camera in her home? What did viewers and listeners think of her story?

There was one thing that all the reactions had in common. They all agreed that it was gut-wrenching to see her tears of joy once she realized that she would get to keep her home!

Something To Think About

No one expects that they would be left to fend for themselves when they are already at their most vulnerable. This is doubly true for Amanda, who had been planning for the future with her husband. She was left reeling in shock because it was so unexpected.

Even though no one wants this to happen to them, you never know when you are going to fall into hard times. We just hope that you never shy away from helping someone in need! After all, there might come a time when you need help yourself as well.

Amanda was glad that she got to become good friends with such a gem of a person.

In the end, she was able to make her wish come true. She got in touch with people who could help, and they did! Anna just wanted to get her pal out of such a terrible situation.
