10-year-old Kheris Rodgers has experienced bullying regarding her skin color since grade 1. All these events of bullying through out her school life have made her quite sensitive. But this child decided to fight back not only for her own sake but to give confidence to other kids in their skin color tone.

Kheris Rogers has been bullied nearly her entire school life for her dark skin. All this took a great toll on her self-esteem. Her mother changed her school to save her from bullying but the teasing continued in even her new school. According to Rogers, she has been bullied since first grade, since there were only four other black kids in her school.

Rogers, even after transferring to a new school, continued to be bullied, this time by other black students in her class. She says "Kids used to bully me because they weren’t used to my skin tone. There was an incident with a teacher and we had to draw ourselves and she gave us a black crayon instead of a brown crayon, and I was really upset.”

All the bullying did a number on this girls self-esteem and confidence. However, Rogers has to fight back. At the young age of 10, Rogers started a new clothing line called "Flexin' In My Complexion" that is meant to celebrate how she looks and help end colorism.

Kheris's elder sister Taylor Pollard 22, claims that her sister would come home and tell her about her traumatic experiences at school. In March Taylor posted a tweet of her sister stating "My sister is only 10, but already royalty.” Pollard shared two photos of her sister after a fashion show. She also used the hashtag #FlexinInHerComplexion, derived from the #FlexinInMyComplexion hashtag which went viral in 2015.

Her picture not only went viral on social media, it also received a lot of praise from people all over the world. All this praise not only boosted this young girl's confidence but also made her realize that getting bullied for skin color is an issue that not only she faced, but a global issue that needs to be addressed.

According to her sister "That’s what pushed Kheris, because she thought ‘If I’m feeling this way, then we want to help others who are feeling bad about themselves too.’” The clothing line was launched in April and since then it has gained many fans. People on social media have been showing off their “Flexin’ In My Complexion” T-shirts, which cost only $15.

Rogers claims that whenever she wears her shirt she feels confident and it does not matter to her if she is picked on anymore. Rogers is planning to expand her clothing line and plans to include a wide variety of clothes for the summer. You are beautiful Kheris and we hope that you keep on shining like this always!
