When her mother could afford it, she got braces, but the dentist told them that it wouldn't entirely fix her problem.
#4 Misaligned
Her upper and lower teeth were completely misaligned, of which a doctor compared the dysfunction, that it caused, to having one arm longer than the other.
#5 Jaw Problems
As you can see by the pictures, her lower teeth formed a ‘U' while her upper teeth formed a ‘V,' which caused her bottom teeth to touch, preventing her top teeth from connecting.
#6 Orthognnathic Surgery
She learned of maxillofacial surgery that can improve jaw function and physical appearance. With insurance covering the costs, she was able to have the surgery at age 17. After the three hour surgery, she had her jaw wired shut for 2 weeks.
