Popular Airline Tells Passengers To Stop Wearing Jeans On Flights And Sparks Fierce Debate

An airline has urged passengers to “stop traveling in jeans,” a request that has quickly split opinion online.

Let’s face it, flying is rarely a pleasant experience unless you are lucky enough to be stretched out in business class.

Between the expensive snacks, cramped seating, stale cabin air, and the unsettling realization that you are cruising 30,000 feet above the ground inside a metal tube, comfort tends to be in short supply.

Sure, we understand that the plane stays up thanks to thrust, lift, and some very clever engineering, but that knowledge does little to calm the nerves when turbulence hits.

Still, air travel allows people to reach distant destinations in hours rather than months, even if the real robbery now feels like paying for a bottle of water and a sandwich after security.

Now, budget airline Ryanair, which operates low-cost flights across Europe, has added a new talking point for passengers.

The airline is well known for its bold and often sarcastic social media style, leaning into its reputation as cheap, blunt, and unapologetic in how it speaks to customers.

In a video shared on its TikTok account, Ryanair made what many viewed as a strange request.

It wrote: "It's 2026, let's stop travelling in jeans."

A caption on the clip added: "Please," along with a praying hands emoji, as if begging viewers to agree.

The message left many viewers confused, with one person asking: "What is wrong with jeans please explain."

The airline’s social media team responded with a short reply: "What's right with them?"

Before long, the comments section filled up with opinions from travelers who had plenty to say.

One viewer joked: "Ok I'll fly in my 18th century historically accurate outfit."

Another took aim at Ryanair’s long-standing reputation for add-on fees, writing: "Are you gonna charge for wearing jeans now?"

Someone else added humor to the situation, commenting: "Whenever I take them off the flight attendants get mad at me."

However, some users admitted they actually agreed with the airline’s stance on denim.

One person wrote: "Prolly the least comfortable thing to wear while flying."

Another user chimed in: "So real, I'll never get it."
