Hannah Ford tragically passed away in January 2021 in a car crash. She got engaged to Winchester Hagans only one month prior and now Hagans is forced to live with her memories only. The grieving man has built a flower box for his fiance and makes sure to place fresh flowers in it every time. However, this action of him violates the city rules and he is now facing criminal charges of littering.
Winchester Hagans, of Auburn, is facing jail charges of criminal littering for the hand-built flower box that he made to put next to the grave of his would-be wife, Hannah Leigh Ford.
The man got arrested for placing the flowers on the grave of his fiancée, whose father is apparently behind the charges.
“I just want to be able to put flowers by my fiancée’s grave,” the grieving man told local ABC affiliate WTVM.
Reportedly, Ford, 27, died tragically in January 2021 only a month after Hagans proposed to her.
However, the woman's dad Tom Ford got a warrant for Hangans' arrest about which he says that he is equally confused.
Hagans built the flower box, which featured pictures of the couple together, and had planted flowers because he said Hannah didn’t care for cut flowers.
“Even though she is gone, I promised her I would never bring her cut flowers again,” he said.
Apparently, he was told by the city that the flower box violates the local rules even though these are rarely enforced until and unless requested by the family.
Ford’s father, who is not reachable currently didn't talk to Hagans before signing the arrest warrant against him.
“She was the love of my life, the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,” Hagans said.
