The defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has concluded and now the fans are wondering when they can next catch either of the actors on the big screen.

The jury in Fairfax, Virginia ruled in favor of the Pirates of the Caribbean star after he sued his ex-wife on defamation charges over her 2018 op-ed in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence.

In her article, Heard, 36, referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" in the op-ed, and even though she did not explicitly mention Depp by name, his attorneys argued that the comments were about the Pirates of the Caribbean star and resulted in him losing work and his personal life getting affected.

After reportedly deliberating for around 12 hours over three days, the court ruled that Depp, 58, was entitled to $10 million in compensatory damages and punitive damages of $5 million. However, per Virginia state law, the punitive damages were reduced to $350,000.

As the trial continued for over six weeks, fans of either party stayed glued to their screens and took to social media to support their favorite stars. However, the majority of these fans sided with Depp and many label him a hero following his victory in the case.

However, Depp's fans will be shocked to hear that Depp actually has fewer films in production than Heard.

According to IMDb, Depp has not acted in a movie since 2020 Minamata, and only has one movie in production.

The 58-year-old actor will appear as Louis XV in Maïwenn's Jeanne du Barry. However, fans may be happy to hear that he has also provided his voice for a character called Johnny Puff for the children's television show Puffins.

On the other hand, Heard is set to appear in 3 movies that are currently in production.

Heard is set to star in the upcoming thriller, In The Fire, which is currently in post-production and does not have a release date.

She is also set to star in the romantic thriller Run Away With Me, which is in pre-production.

Not to forget, the actor is set to appear in the upcoming infamous DC movie, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. Amid the high-profile defamation trial, a petition to have Heard removed from the movie has amassed more than 4 million signatures.

During the trial, Heard testified that she said that she had performed a "very pared-down version" of her role for the Aquaman sequel.

"I fought really hard to stay in the movie," she said on the stand, adding: "They didn't want to include me in the film." ("They" presumably referring to the movie's officials.)

Heard added: "I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it that depicted my character and another character - without giving any spoilers away - two characters fighting with one another.

"They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out."
