A woman from the United States is making bold claims that she is Madeleine McCann, the British girl who disappeared nearly twenty years ago. She insists that DNA results back up her story.

Madeleine’s disappearance as a three-year-old captured worldwide attention in 2007. She vanished from her family's holiday apartment in Portugal while her parents were out, sparking one of the most infamous missing person cases in history.

Now, nearly two decades later, Eugenea Collins claims she has uncovered the truth—saying that she is, in fact, the girl who went missing all those years ago.

Collins, who lives in Arkansas, has been repeatedly posting on social media, insisting that she is the real Madeleine. She even claims to have 'DNA proof' to support her assertions.

The 22-year-old has blonde hair and blue eyes, and she was born on October 23, 2002. That birthdate makes her close in age to Madeleine, but there is a five-month gap, as Madeleine was born on May 12, 2003, in Leicestershire, England.

Despite this discrepancy, Collins remains convinced of her identity. She told the Daily Mail that she first started questioning who she really was after watching Polish woman Julia Wandelt appear on Dr. Phil’s talk show, making similar claims.

Julia Wandelt had also alleged that she was Madeleine McCann, the daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann. However, a DNA test ultimately disproved her claims, revealing that she was not related to the McCann family.

Following her public assertions, Wandelt faced legal consequences. According to BBC reports, she was charged with stalking the McCann family in the UK, allegedly bombarding them with messages, sending a letter, and even showing up at their residence.

Collins reflected on this and said: "If it wasn't for me seeing her on the Dr. Phil show I would've never known. In a way her stupidity actually helped me find my family."

"I saw the age progressions and it was like I was looking in a mirror. I just know I saw pictures of myself online and it says I'm missing," she stated.

To further support her claim, Collins has been sharing images and videos on TikTok, pointing out her supposed resemblance to the missing child. She also posted her ancestry DNA results, which indicate that she is 68 percent English and Northwestern European. She claims this is compelling 'proof' of her identity.

Additionally, Collins says she has struggled to obtain formal identification documents. She claims that she has never seen her original birth certificate and added: "The only thing I saw had someone else's name wrote on it and they marked that out and wrote mine above it."

Collins has also shared what she describes as a tangled and confusing family history. She says she has no relationship with the man she was told is her biological father. Strikingly, she claims that her father resembles a German man named Christian B, who is a convicted pedophile.

Christian B was, at one point, a prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. However, due to insufficient evidence, he was never formally charged in connection with her case.

Collins recalled meeting her supposed father on only a few occasions and added: "I was always told he was a little off in the head. We were never allowed to go around him. I never knew why."

"When I first saw the photos of Christina B I instantly recognized that man. Christian B is the man I was told my whole life was my biological father."

Many people remain highly skeptical of Collins’ claims. Critics have pointed out clear physical differences between her and Madeleine, such as the distinct marking in Madeleine’s eye and differences in their ear shapes.

Collins, however, has responded to these doubts by saying that she discovered 'scars' behind her ears, which she believes could be evidence of past medical procedures or alterations.

Collins has shared her personal struggles on social media, writing: "I felt like something was missing from my life and I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. The emptiness was just one of the worst things. The feeling of not belonging wasn't just in my head it was because I actually didn't belong here."

She described the experience as life-changing and said that after coming to this realization, it feels “like this weight has been lifted off my chest.”

"This isn't just another false alarm. I really am Madeleine McCann," she reiterated.
