An Old Man And Boy Were Tired Of Being Judged, But They’re Shocked When THIS Happens
#1 An Old Man And His Boy
An old man, a boy, and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey, and the old man walked.
As they went along they passed some people who remarked "What a shame, the old man is walking, the boy is riding." The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.
#2 Changing Positions
As they went further down the road they came upon a group of gossipy townsfolk who whispered to each other about the man and the boy. "What is so interesting," the man asked the ladies?
Finally, one of the women spoke up and said "You are an old man and the boy is so strong, yet you let him ride while you walk beside him. That's a shame." So the old man took the boy from the donkey and he rode atop of it.
#3 Walking Together
Later they passed some different people who remarked "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk". So they decided they'd both walk into town and pull the donkey beside them.
#4 They Should Both Ride
Soon they passed some more people who remarked, "They're really stupid to walk when they have a decent donkey to ride." So they both decided to ride the donkey into town.
#5 More People Giving Advice
Further down the trail they passed some more people who shamed them by saying "How awful to put such a load on that old and poor donkey." The boy and the man figured they were probably right, so they decide to carry the donkey.
#6 Runaway Donkey
As they arrived into town, a group of townsfolk had gathered near the only bridge. The people began to laugh at the man, his boy, and their donkey, "Look at that funny man and boy dragging that donkey," they sneered. Their laughter became so uproarious that it frightened the donkey, who broke free and began to sprint away.
#7 The Moral
The runaway donkey was in such a hurry that he stumble and flipped over the bridge and landed in the raging water below, and drowned.
The moral of the story: If you try to please everyone, you might as well kiss your ass goodbye.
