Dogs do not think twice when it comes to protecting their loved ones, even if it means they are in personal danger. Their bravery is as impressive as their devotion and loyalty to their humans. Still, some breeds get a bad rap as being violent and unpredictable.
Pit bulls are at the top of the least trusted canine. It is hard to believe that this breed was once considered the "nanny dog," for their stable mind, patience, and loyalty. Today, parents are terrified at the thought of a pit bull attempting to get close to a child.
There are vicious pit bulls attacks that have hurt and killed people. These animals, however, were trained to hurt and kill by their human owners. Some families have chosen to make pit bulls another member of the family.

Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez was at home with her three-month-old daughter. She was speaking on the phone with her husband, Adolfo Angeles-Morales.
She heard a noise coming from the back door. Angeles-Morales told his wife to check who it was. What he heard over the found almost immediately was his wife screaming.

A man and a woman demanded money from the mother. They threatened to take her baby.
Garzon-Jimenez told the intruders she had no money. The woman grabbed the baby girl and began to walk out the door.

"She fought with the lady, because she tried to go by the kitchen, and she held her by the shirt," Angeles-Morales said.
The man used his gun and hit Garzon-Jimenez on the head with it.

Just as the woman was running towards the back door, one of the two family's pit bull stood between her and the exit.
Initially, the canines were in the backyard but ran into the house when they heard the commotion. The dogs barked and growled at the strangers, prompting them to run in the opposite direction.

Rather than fight the dogs, the woman threw the baby into Garzon-Jimenez's arms.
The mother was taken to the hospital where she was treated for minor cuts and bruises.

The baby was unharmed.
The family owes the safety of their baby to their loyal canines.
