People were horrified to see two luggage handlers throwing passengers' stuff around in a TikTok video.

Don't believe the myth that your checked luggage moves around a conveyor belt gently, like a plate of edamame beans at YO! Sushi.

Even without having to think about how to store valuables or more delicate items discreetly, packing luggage is a difficult undertaking.

I doubt your perfume would survive this beating, though, no matter how carefully you bubble-wrap it.

Two baggage handlers wearing hi-vis jackets are seen in the video, which Rex Ross posted on TikTok, unloading a number of luggage and bags onto a conveyor belt.

The two handlers opt to pick them up and fling them in the general direction of the belt rather than turning or delicately placing the things on the belt.

The handlers giggle as some suitcases land on the conveyor belt, some drop off the side, and some bounce and boing around on top of one another as they're flung about.

We understand that carrying big luggage is annoying and that it doesn't seem like the most enjoyable job in the world. But to handle someone's private property in such a manner? The TikTokers are not amused at all.

More than two million people have watched the video, and hundreds of TikTokers have reacted angrily to it by criticizing the careless way the luggage was handled.

One said: "They should be terminated on the spot."

"People pay soooo much money for their flights and trust that our property isn’t being intentionally damaged when we don't have it with us," another wrote.

A third commented: "It would actually take more effort to lift it and throw it with force, rather than just put in on the conveyor. If they don’t like it, find another job."

A final resolved: "They r doing that on purpose it’s a disgrace."

The TikToker who first shared the video identified Melbourne Airport as the shooting site and the bags as coming from or destined for a Qantas flight.

Before, Qantas was criticized for forcing flight attendants to build "blanket forts" around customers so they could sleep. The airline's customer support has also come under fire.

According to a Qantas spokesperson, the following was done with the suitcases: "The behavior in this video is clearly not acceptable, and our contracted ground handler is conducting an urgent investigation."

Swissport, which Qantas hires to handle baggage from its flights at Melbourne Airport, stated that the baggage handlers in the video had been stood down.

A Swissport spokesperson said: "Swissport trains and manages all staff to handle customer possessions with care and diligence."
