The rapper has kept details of her diagnosis private, but she shared a difficult health update with fans over the weekend
Rapper and internet personality Bhad Bhabie has told fans that she recently received “bad news” about her cancer, after previously sharing only limited information about her condition.
The artist, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, first revealed two years ago that doctors had detected cancer when she was just 20 years old. Since then, she has mentioned it only briefly while continuing to build her music career and expand her online presence.
Now 22, she posted another update on her X account on Saturday. In it, she said she had received “bad news from my doctor yesterday,” without giving further details.
Although she did not explain what the update involved or what specific type of cancer she has, Bregoli made clear that she believes her outcome is not solely in the hands of doctors. She wrote that “god has the last say so not my cancer,” signaling that she remains focused on faith despite the setback.
Questions about her health first surfaced in November 2024, when fans commented on her noticeable weight loss. In response, she said she was undergoing cancer treatment.
She replied: "I'm Sorry my cancer medicine made me loose weight. Im slowly gaining it back. So stop running w the worst narratives."
Despite growing concern from supporters, Bregoli did not confirm at that time whether she had cancer or if she was taking medication for another reason. As a result, speculation began online, with some accusing her of exaggerating or fabricating the illness for attention.
Her mother, Barbara Ann, who became known to the public after their 2016 appearance on Dr. Phil, strongly rejected those claims. She criticized celebrity blogger Perez Hilton for suggesting her daughter was not telling the truth.
In a heated message directed at him, she wrote: "How dare you, you little vile piece of s**t say my daughter would lie about something like that." She then added: "And, I pray to God that none of your children never get cancer, okay? I've had it twice. How dare you say my daughter is faking this."
Since rising to fame for her viral line “Catch me outside, how ’bout that?” in 2016, Bregoli has continued to grow her brand under the name Bhad Bhabie. Throughout that time, her reported diagnosis appears to have remained a private issue in the background while she focused on her career.
At the end of 2024, Bregoli underwent several cosmetic procedures, including breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and the removal of silicone from her buttocks. Some critics questioned how someone battling cancer could move forward with elective surgeries.
She responded directly to those concerns: "I don't know who told y'all you can't get surgery when you have cancer. I was cleared by my dr mind the business that pays you."
Bregoli also said she consulted “top doctors” before proceeding with each surgery. She dismissed claims that the procedures were connected to cancer treatment and clarified: "Y'all mfs[sic] so worried about me and y'all don't even know what kind of cancer I have! It's not breast cancer that is a rumor."
Bregoli has not publicly confirmed the exact type of cancer she has. However, reports suggest it may be blood cancer after she shared in January 2025 that she had an elevated white blood cell count, according to TMZ.
