A spokesperson for former US President Bill Clinton has called for the full and unredacted release of the files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, accusing the White House of shielding someone through selective disclosures.

Angel Ureña criticized both the White House and the Department of Justice over the weekend, saying the limited release appeared designed to shift attention toward Clinton by highlighting photos that show him alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Roughly 300,000 Epstein-related files were made public on Friday, which was the deadline set for their release, and they included references to several high-profile figures such as Clinton, the former Prince Andrew, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Chris Tucker, and Kevin Spacey, among others.

The release quickly drew attention because of how much information appeared to be missing or obscured.

None of the individuals pictured in the released images have been accused of wrongdoing simply for appearing in them.

Still, the narrow scope of the release and the extent of the redactions meant that some documents were published entirely blacked out, which led Ureña to push for what he described as full transparency.

He urged that President Trump instruct Attorney General Bondi to immediately release any remaining materials that reference, mention, or include photographs of Bill Clinton.

According to Ureña, anything less would continue to raise unnecessary suspicion.

"The White House hasn't been hiding these files for months only to dump them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton," the spokesperson declared in a public statement.

"What the Department of Justice has released so far, and the manner in which it did so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected," Ureña said. "We do not know whom, what or why. But we do know this: We need no such protection."

"On Friday, the Justice Department unveiled its initial set of files; however, it refrained from releasing all of the federal government's documents tied to various probes into the notorious sex offender, as required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act, enacted last month by President Donald Trump"

The statement went on to suggest that if the Department of Justice refuses to release all remaining files, it would reinforce concerns that selective disclosures are being used to hint at wrongdoing involving individuals who have already been cleared multiple times by the same department over many years, under administrations from both political parties.

Clinton, like many other well-known figures whose names or images have appeared in the released materials, has never been charged with or accused of crimes related to Epstein, and his inclusion in the files does not, on its own, indicate any misconduct.

Even so, the partial release has renewed public focus on Epstein’s connections with influential figures across politics, entertainment, and business, including Donald Trump himself, who has also appeared in court documents tied to the late financier.

The controversy continues to raise questions about why some information remains withheld and whether further disclosures could change public understanding of the case.
