A close friend of Billie Eilish has accidentally revealed a very personal tattoo that the singer once swore no one outside her inner circle would ever see.

The Bad Guy singer is known to have at least five tattoos, though she has hinted that a few others remain unseen by the public. She has always preferred to keep them private and understated rather than flashy.

"The only tattoos I wanna get are the ones that barely anyone can see," she told Vanity Fair back in 2017, making it clear that her body art would remain mostly hidden from view.

When she turned 18, Billie marked the milestone in her own unique way. Just one day after dominating the 2020 Grammy Awards — taking home five major trophies including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Vocal Album — she decided it was time to get her first tattoo.

It was a major moment in her career, as she became the first woman ever to sweep the four biggest Grammy categories in a single year. To celebrate the achievement, she quietly visited a tattoo studio instead of hosting a party.

"I did get a tattoo, but you won't ever see it," she said at the time, keeping fans guessing about what — and where — the mysterious tattoo might be.

Over the years, Billie’s collection of tattoos has continued to grow, though she’s still careful about what she chooses to show.

In 2021, she revealed two new tattoos — one of which featured delicate fairies drawn along the side of her hand, inspired by her favorite childhood book Fairyopolis.

"They're like my little guardian angel fairies," she explained, describing the whimsical design that clearly meant a lot to her.

She later added what she described as her “big boy” tattoo — a large dragon inked across her lower waist.

After keeping it private for a while, Billie eventually shared a glimpse of it with fans in an Instagram post that quickly made headlines.

Still, it’s that very first tattoo — the one she promised would stay hidden — that fans have been curious about ever since.

For years, she refused to show it or even describe it, fueling endless speculation online about what it looked like and where it was placed.

That long-running mystery was finally solved when Eilish’s friend, Annabel Zimmer — the daughter of film composer Hans Zimmer — accidentally gave fans a peek. Annabel posted a casual photo of herself and Billie relaxing outdoors, unaware that the image revealed more than intended.

In the sunny snap, Billie is smiling with her face turned toward the light, wearing sunglasses and a bikini top with her hair tied back. Just beneath the string of her bikini, fans noticed the faint outline of the hidden tattoo she’d once sworn would never be seen.

The image quickly spread across social media. While it wasn’t perfectly clear, it gave fans their first real look at the elusive tattoo that had been talked about for years.

Many joked that this would probably be the closest they’d ever get to seeing it in detail — and honestly, they were fine with that, respecting her wish for privacy while still feeling a bit triumphant for finally catching a glimpse.

Rolling Stone later reported that the tattoo was written in an “ornate, gothic font,” with the stylized black letters believed to spell out her own name. The font’s sharp, pointed edges made the design instantly recognizable to those who had seen the leaked photo.

Since then, Billie has continued to express herself through her art and body ink. In October 2023, she revealed her newest tattoo — a striking, abstract design that runs down the center of her back, adding another chapter to her evolving story through ink.
