The moment caught viewers off guard and quickly became a talking point on social media
Billy Bob Thornton Leaves Fans Stunned After Shocking Full-Frontal Moment In New Episode Of Hit Series
Billy Bob Thornton has sparked a wave of reaction following the opening moments of the latest episode of the hit series Landman, after viewers were shown far more of the actor than they expected.
The episode, which landed on Paramount+ on December 28, opens with Thornton’s character Tommy Norris in a scene that immediately set social media buzzing.
Norris wakes up in a hotel room as a hotel employee enters to deliver his breakfast, setting the stage for what quickly becomes an uncomfortable and unexpected moment.
As the scene continues, Tommy lets out a fart and rolls over, and in that split second, viewers briefly see him completely naked.
The moment escalates when the 70-year-old actor’s character ends up flashing his erect penis at the hotel worker, who reacts in shock and fear and pleads with him not to rape her.
Moments later, Ali Larter’s character Angela steps out of the bathroom, immediately chastises Tommy, and tells him to "put his d*** away".
Angela then tries to calm the hotel employee, telling her: "Don't be scared, darling. That wasn't about you."
"He eats Cialis [a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction] like M&Ms and runs into door jams all morning with that thing. I'm so sorry about that."
She then turns her attention back to Tommy and continues her rant, adding: "I was trying to surprise you with breakfast in bed… That is not the best angle of your ball sack, I might add."
"You really have to love a man to look at him from there. Poor thing. If she wasn't a lesbian when she walked in here, she's a f**king lesbian now."
The scene ends with Tommy and Angela launching into a heated, profanity-filled exchange before the episode moves on.
It remains unclear whether the explicit moment involved prosthetics or digital effects, though many viewers suspect it was created using visual tricks rather than showing Thornton himself.
While some viewers found the opening scene funny or shocking in a darkly comic way, others were far less impressed and voiced their frustration online.
One viewer wrote on X: "Anybody else think #landman has gone off track. It was about oil and now it's about relationships. Bore fest."
Another person shared a similar view, writing: "This. Also, I don't understand why the producer felt the need to show Thornton's member. Like you can't insinuate without showing it?"
"Cmonnn. I'm sure guys don't wanna see that either…"
A third summed up their reaction more bluntly, simply posting: "Eewww...."
