Star Billy Ray Cyrus wants a restraining order against Firerose to protect his money.
Billy Ray Cyrus Takes Legal Action Against Wife Firerose After Filing For Divorce
Billy Ray Cyrus is asking for a temporary order to keep his wife away.
This is just weeks after he filed for divorce from Firerose.
He wants to control his money again.
The country singer filed for divorce from Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, on May 22 in a Tennessee court.
He said the reason was 'inappropriate marital conduct.'
Now, Billy Ray Cyrus has filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order.
He says Firerose used his credit card without permission.
After about seven months of marriage, he filed for divorce, saying there were incompatible differences and 'inappropriate marital conduct.'
He has asked for a temporary order to stop Firerose from using his personal and work bank cards and accounts for any 'unauthorized charges.'
He gave details about charges that he says were 'fraudulent.'
He claims the charges total a very large $96,986.
This supposedly includes a payment of $70,665 to Firerose's lawyers.
In a written statement, Cyrus said: "Because of these fraudulent charges...I am worried that Ms. Hodges has other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts."
According to reports by PEOPLE, Billy Ray Cyrus said that Firerose made 37 charges to his business account without his permission starting from May 23, the day after he filed for divorce.
However, Firerose has denied this through her lawyer, who said, "To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue.
"During a divorce, both parties should keep living like they did during the marriage.
"My client was just living like she had since their October 2023 wedding, and her husband cannot just cut her off."
After they got married last October, Firerose says she was allowed to use Cyrus' cards.
She also says they would often check the spending on the card together.
Cyrus says Firerose has over half-a-million dollars in cash and investments and owns a house in Los Angeles worth more than a million dollars.
He wants her to give back or return anything she bought with the 'unauthorized charges' on his account.
