Boy, 3, Who Vanished Without A Trace Found 48 Hours Later In Dangerous Woods

A three-year-old boy who disappeared without a trace after spending 48 hours in a forest full of dangerous creatures has been found.

Yegor Novolotsky, a missing child from his Russian village of Morozovitsa, Vologda Oblast, was last shown on camera walking next to a pack of dogs near a school around 5:40 p.m. on August 1.

In a huge search operation, more than 200 police officers, paramedics, and volunteers combed riverbanks, ravines, and abandoned structures.

When some of Yegor's things were discovered the following day, the searchers feared the worst.

But miraculously, the boy was discovered the following day still alive in a forest four miles (seven kilometers) from his village.

The youngster was brought to a nearby hospital for hypothermia treatment after experiencing nighttime lows of only 14C (57F).

The leader of the Veliky Ustyug district, Alexander Kuzmin, thanked everyone who helped with the day and night search and announced that Yegor is now seeing doctors and psychiatrists.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Vologda Oblast stated in a statement that a criminal investigation and search efforts were initiated right away after the disappearance.

It said: "Experienced investigators and forensic specialists from the regional office of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia left for the scene.

"To search for the missing boy, the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the public and volunteers were involved, special equipment was used.”

"During the search activities on the morning of 3rd August 2022, the missing child was found alive in a forest belt about seven kilometers from the village where he lives.”

"Doctors were sent to him to assess his state of health and provide the necessary assistance.”

"According to preliminary information, the child has general hypothermia, he was sent to the district hospital for hospitalization.”

"Currently, investigators continue to establish all the circumstances of the boy's movement. The criminal investigation is ongoing."
