A woman shared her boyfriend’s story where he asked to be put on the house title after ‘just’ moving in. A Tiktoker gave her this advice, “Fuck, No.”
Boyfriend Asks To Be Put On Title Of Her House. ‘F*ck No’ Replies This Realtor.
A Tiktok user and realtor Erika Strong Rodri shares advice on homeownership on her channel.
This particular short but succinct video had a caption on the screen which said,
“My boyfriend just moved in with me, I bought this home a year ago by myself. He wants me to add him to the title since he will be paying for stuff around the house.”
Rodri simply replies while looking into the camera as she sings along to music, “Yeah, Fuck no.”
The caption to the video reads, "No. Tell him it's just a piece of paper."
While it is unclear whether she was actually asked the question or was simply presenting a potential scenario, her advice is solid.
In a later interview, she revealed she was giving, “hard working women a piece of advice.” She was inspired to make the video after one of her clients had asked her a similar question.
“I worked with her last year on the purchase of her home so I know How hard she worked to get her first home so of course I told her absolutely NOT!”
Luckily, most women in the comments were already wise to the situation.
One user replied that there were other ways to approach the conversation and actually put money towards the home rather than making demands.
Another user joked that the "boyfriend" was making "husband" demands.
There were also some supportive husbands in the chat.
“I was very happy to see the number of financially smart women in the comments,”
“As well as, so many men supporting women. There was too many comments to keep up with, but I saw a few discussions sparking between men and women regarding this topic and other similar ones- I was excited to see the support from one another. I was also nice to see differences of opinions being heard and respected!”
