Brides are shaking up traditional wedding fashion by wearing Crocs down the aisle, choosing comfort and individuality over conventional heels. These bold and unconventional choices are breaking the norm and inspiring others to dare to be different.
Brides Are Stirring Up Controversy By Wearing Crocs At Their Wedding
Brides who choose to walk down the aisle in jeweled crocs have drawn quite a bit of criticism.
Brides are increasingly choosing foam clogs over stilettos to wear on their wedding day, which has become a trend.
Since Crocs are so comfy, folks who wear them to work don't really blame the bride for wanting to unwind so they can dance the night away.
Many brides have shared photos of themselves wearing the glittery clog on social media.
Even a step-by-step video of how one TikTok user by the name of emlaycockx decorated her crocs before her wedding was shared.
She spent 10 hours crafting her wedding masterpiece, and she was pleased with the result.
The video, however, split many viewers, as one individual wrote: “Please no … why would you want to wear them to your wedding?!!!”
Another said: “Why would you do this?”
While a third chimed in: “I want wedding crocs for the school run.”
That is one way to express yourself to other PTA members, I suppose.
Another TikTok user going by the handle "chloemoore88" even went a step further by decorating the sandals with enormous silk bows and a glittering Dior logo.
Many viewers, though, expressed disgust.
One person commented: “Wedding crocs!? Did I hear that right?”
Another said: “I mean at least they're in sports mode.”
A third shared: “I think that’s going a bit far.”
Nonetheless, as one person noted: “Omg I am doing this.”
While another wrote: “They must be for the wedding reception so she's not in heels or heavy shoes.”
Crocs have recently experienced a brief comeback, as you may have observed.
The shoe had completely vanished from the fashion world by the early 2000s when it was all the craze.
So far, at least.
Crocs' General Manager for Asia Pacific, Megan Welch, sat down and spoke with Daily Mail, saying she thought the shoe had been revived because it is an easy-to-wear, long-lasting item of footwear that promotes individuality.
“I think [the popularity] is a combination of factors - one being our Classic Clog is the best canvas for self-expression,” Ms. Welch said.
She added: “Our Jibbitz charms are an accessible form of personalization that you can change out based on your mood, the season, or if you get new ones - and it allows people to ‘come as they are’ through their Crocs.”
