Bull Gores And Stamps On Helpless Woman During A Bubble Ball Bull Race Rodeo
Horrifying footage shows a furious bull charging at and stamping on a helpless woman in a rodeo gone wrong. Rodeo fans gasped in horror when a raging bull was released and immediately charged two of the racers and tossed them into the air at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo in Utah, US
In the competition, contestants have to race around the arena and return to the starting line to win $500. The event starts when several people enter the bullring wearing inflatable bubbles, racing across the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo arena in Vernal.
But the situation turned dangerous when a bull was released, leaving the audience gasping in horror as it immediately charged two of the racers and tossed them into the air. The bull then floored another three victims before turning its attention to a woman still struggling to stand after its last attack.
In the first attack, the bull's sharp horns tear through the racer's bubble, bursting it before the bull veers around looking for its next victim. 'He popped the bubble! He popped the bubble!' the person filming the video is heard shouting.
Rodeo organizers soon escort him away from the menacing bull. The beast then runs down a racer from behind, catapulting him across the sand and coming close to the camera.
But the bull's rampage isn't done yet. It thrashes around at the racers who have already reached the finish line, knocking down two of the bubble-wearing volunteers. It turns its attention to a woman still struggling to stand after its last attack. At first the event seems harmless enough, but in the horrifying moments that follow, the bull gores the woman again and again with its horns.
The beast continues stamping and deflating the bubble before trampling her. The woman appeared to have sustained a puncture wound on the front right of her stomach afterwards, said one spectator named Emma.
'When we initially saw them come out we were all laughing saying we wished we’d signed up, since it just looked like they’d be racing in bubble balls,' said Emma, a spectator, who said she hadn't realized a bull would be involved.
'The goal was to run across the field and back in the ball, but about halfway through they let the bull out. All of our jaws dropped at this point. Almost immediately the bull started charging the different people running.'
'It was funny – until it wasn’t,' said Jared Hays, another spectator, adding: 'The lady at the end got the worst of it and I sure hope she’s okay. She could hardly get back up but finally did with the help of two men who came to her.'
The racers were untrained volunteers picked out randomly from the audience, said a spectator, who said they 'were literally getting ripped up and thrown in the air. No padding, no helmet, nothing.'
Emma said the race on Saturday, which costs $50 to enter, had changed her perspective on rodeos.
'I just think this is incredibly stupid,' she said. 'It’s a danger to the people involved as well as the bull.'
Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo was contacted for comment but did not respond.
The nearby hospital, Ashley Regional Medical Center, was also contacted but said it could not provide any details on patients.
