Caitlyn Jenner’s solution to homelessness is straight out of Marie Antoinette’s book. In an interview regarding her bid to run for Governor, she suggests that homeless people are destroying beaches and businesses and should be put in open fields.
Caitlyn Jenner is on the campaign trail, doing interviews and answering hard hitting questions regarding the major steps that she’ll take if she’s made Governor of California.
In an interview with KRON4, a Californian TV network, she was asked about her suggestions to make her local area better.
This was when she started making claims about homeless people, stating that they were ruining Venice Beach.
"Venice Beach is destroyed," she continued, urging the interviewer to visit the area, "They're destroying Venice Beach. They are destroying all the businesses out there."
"We have to clean that up. We have to provide someplace for those people to go, whether it's an open field out in someplace, or if you notice at the veteran's facility, there are these big open fields and a lot of places there."
She further reiterated that it was homeless people that were causing an increase in local crime rates, stating that “We can't have that on our streets."
Regarding the immigration policy, she suggested that she would implement tougher restrictions and would build the wall where it appeared on state land.
"As governor, I would finish the wall on state land, where you can finish the wall. I think we need controlled immigration in this state. We need to know the people that are coming into this state,"
These suggestions were met with outrage, saying the comments were ignorant and damaging.
They also reminded the internet that these damaging policies were exactly what was done to Native Americans.
They also called Jenner out for a lack of policies to eradicate homelessness and actually help the situation.
In her bid to become Governor of California, she announced, "Californians want better and deserve better from the governor. For too long, career politicians have over-promised and under-delivered. We need a leader with the vision and resolve to see it through."
