Carrie Fisher's Mother's Final Words Before She Died Were Heartbreaking

2016 has been a horrible year riddled with the deaths of beloved icons. We almost made it to the end of the year when on December 27th, Carrie Fisher died. Her role as Princess Leia in the original ‘Star Wars' franchise made her an immortal icon.

Only the next day, her mother Debbie Reynolds also died. She was 84 years old. It has been said that Debbie Reynolds was at her son's house, making arrangements for her daughter's funeral when she suddenly had a stroke. The world feels that she died from a broken heart.

Immediately, she was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles where he passed away later that day. It is unimaginable what her son Todd, and her granddaughter Billie Lourd are going through. Billie lost her mother and grandmother in the span of two days; likewise for Todd, who lost his sister and mother.

Todd Fisher has graciously shared with the public what his mother's final words were. She was at his home right before suffering from the fatal stroke. Debbie Reynolds' final words were about her beloved daughter. She said: ‘I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.' The public has been reeling with the shock of losing Carrie Fisher, but compounded with the loss of her mother just the next day is a shock to the world.

Debbie Reynolds got her first break at 19 years old with the lead role of Kathy Selden in ‘Singin' in the Rain.' But her biggest movies include ‘Bundle of Joy,' ‘The Catered Affair,' and ‘Tammy and the Bachelor.' Debbie was also a talented singer as well as an actress. Talent ran deep in their genes, as both mother and daughter had extremely successful acting careers.

'The Debbie Reynolds Show' was very popular as well. So popular that she earned a Golden Globe nomination. These are just a few accomplishments off of her long and very impressive resume. She still performed on stage, even in her eighties.

In January of 2015, she received the Screen Actors Guild's Life Achievement Award. In early 2016, there was a documentary released about her and Carrie titled ‘Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.' As tragic as this situation is, at least mother and daughter are resting peacefully together.
