It's a little Island in japan, also named Tashirojima. With it's very small population of around 100 fishers, it's a good spot for cats to live.
A paradise for cat-ladies.
The feline domination of Tashirojima dates back to Japan's late Edo Periodfrom the mid-18th to the mid-19th century. At that time, residents of the island raised silkworms for their textiles. Cats were valued because they chased away the mice that preyed on silkworms.
The locals feed and care for the semi-feral cats believing it will being them good luck and prosperity. The fishermen also believe that the cats help predict weather patterns.
