Celebrity SAS Star Requires Surgery After 'Ripping' Her Vulva In One Of The Show's Most Painful Injuries
One of the contestants on the latest season of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has revealed she’s now in need of surgery after suffering what may be one of the most excruciating injuries ever seen on the series.
In the lead-up to the next episode, airing on 10 August, Lucy Spraggan opened up about the shocking moment she “ripped” her vulva during filming.
The former X Factor star is competing alongside Louie Spence, Rebecca Loos, Adam Collard, Michaella McCollum, and Harry Clark in the seventh season of the physically and mentally grueling Channel 4 show.
Some contestants bowed out quickly — S Club 7’s Hannah Spearitt lasted only a few minutes before quitting, while Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows handed over their armbands after struggling to cope.
Spraggan, however, threw herself fully into the brutal challenges, enduring what sounds like the worst possible outcome.
During her time on the show, the 34-year-old sustained several injuries, but it was a harness stunt that left her in unbearable pain and bleeding heavily.
"I ripped my labia - it was bad. That's not a common injury. Actually, genuinely, that's never been the same, so much so I'm having some surgery soon to correct it," she told The Sun.
"I don't really know even what happened, I guess the harness was tight."
At first, Spraggan admitted she assumed it couldn’t be as bad as it felt, despite knowing something was wrong.
"And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything," the singer said.
She added that in such a painful and shocking moment, any sense of dignity disappeared. The medic on set initially thought she had injured her leg, but she had to quickly clarify where the bleeding was actually coming from.
As if that ordeal wasn’t enough, Spraggan also left the show with several other injuries from different challenges.
At one point, she nearly knocked out a tooth and even fainted. In another brutal moment, she jumped from a helicopter onto a boat, only to smash face-first into the sea, which left her with a black eye that was still visible on her wedding day.
That same fall also caused permanent damage to cosmetic filler in her cheeks.
"I had the filler under my eyes and when my face hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face," Spraggan explained. "By that point I was just in pain everywhere...and the filler didn't migrate back, when I got home I had to have it dissolved."
It’s safe to say she truly gave every ounce of herself to the competition — quite literally.
