The CEO identified as the recipient of an email discussing a 'torture video' in the Epstein files has stepped down from his role.

Earlier in the day, US politician Thomas Massie publicly named Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem as the person who received the message. Bin Sulayem served as CEO and chair of Dubai-based logistics company DP World at the time of the announcement.

The email, sent in 2009 from Jeffrey Epstein to bin Sulayem, included the line “I loved the torture video.” The message appeared in the latest Department of Justice release of Epstein-related documents last month. The wider context of the email has not been made public.

Bin Sulayem’s name was originally redacted in the released documents. That changed after efforts by Massie and Representative Ro Khanna led to his name being disclosed this week.

Following that development, confirmation came that bin Sulayem resigned from his positions as both Chairman and CEO.

In a statement issued by DP World, which did not mention bin Sulayem by name, the company announced leadership changes. Essa Kazim was appointed as the new chair of the board, while Yuvraj Narayan took over as CEO.

"DP World affirmed that the new appointments support its strategy for sustainable growth and reinforce its role in strengthening global supply chains and supporting Dubai's position as a leading hub for trade and logistics," the statement, released by the Media Office of Dubai read.

"DOJ redacted information necessary to identify who sent Epstein the 'torture video email'," Massie wrote on X in response to the development.

"@RepRoKhanna and I first discovered his name and released it Monday. Today, he resigns."

The 2009 email was not the only exchange between the two men. Over the years, multiple messages reportedly show them discussing a range of topics, including sex, explicit images, and escorts across a period of about a decade.

In one email cited by The Times, bin Sulayem allegedly sent Epstein an image of a woman along with a comment stating that the university student was “the best sex I ever had amazing body.”

The BBC also reported that bin Sulayem had forwarded jokes from Epstein that were described as sexist and racist. In one message, he reportedly stated that “Russia is the source of all beautiful women.”

Although his name appears in the documents, bin Sulayem has not faced criminal charges connected to Epstein.

Reports also suggest that Epstein introduced the 71-year-old executive to several political figures, including Steve Bannon and Ehud Barak, the former Prime Minister of Israel.
