Charlize Theron Candidly Labels Her Kids 'A**holes' And Claims Other Parents Can Relate

Charlize Theron has opened up with a very candid admission about the realities of motherhood, and it's something that a lot of parents out there will find incredibly relatable.

If you have kids, you'll likely agree that parenting isn't the easiest task in the world.

Whether you’re dealing with energetic toddlers or moody teenagers, every stage of your child’s life brings its own set of challenges, and Theron is right in the thick of it herself.

The Mad Max: Fury Road favorite is the proud mom of two adopted daughters: 11-year-old Jackson and 9-year-old August.

She adopted Jackson in 2012 and added August to the family three years later.

Theron is known for keeping her private life out of the spotlight.

However, she recently offered a rare glimpse into her experience of motherhood during a chat with E! News at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) 2024 Block Party over the weekend.

"Oh, my God, they're so embarrassed by me constantly," she confessed to the showbiz news outlet.

"They’re kids, they're girls, you know? I have a preteen and I feel like I have a nine-year-old who thinks she's a 13-year-old. It’s a lot of girl in our house."

The 48-year-old mom went on to describe the whirlwind of raising her daughters: 

"I'm just trying to keep my head above water, because they are smart and they are witty and they are firecrackers, but they do not go, 'Oh my god, Mom, you're so amazing.'

"They're like, 'Excuse me, I need. I want.'"

Even though Theron jokingly labeled her daughters as 'a**holes,' she still believes they are 'really nice' at heart.

"Other parents know what I’m talking about," she added, acknowledging the universal struggles of parenting.

Earlier this year, Theron gave her fans a peek into an exciting trip she took with one of her daughters to New York City.

She shared a series of snapshots from their vacation, captioning them: "We came, we saw, we did it all. NYC you were a treat!"

The first photo showed Theron with one of her daughters sipping on a soda, capturing a sweet moment between mother and daughter. 

Another snap from the trip showed them visiting the 9/11 memorial, a poignant and educational experience.

They also made time to visit the city's renowned American Museum of Natural History and even went on a cruise to get an up-close look at the Statue of Liberty.

During their time in the Big Apple, August had the chance to join her superstar mom at a glamorous Dior fashion show.

It was a memorable event for the young girl. 

And just a month before their New York City adventure, Theron took both of her girls to Disney World for a fun-filled spring break.
