These signs could point toward a partner being unfaithful
Private Investigator Breaks Down 20 Signs Your Partner Might Be Cheating
A private investigator has shared a list of 20 different signs that may suggest your partner is being unfaithful.
Discovering that someone you trust may be cheating is one of the hardest things to hear in a relationship, and plenty of experts have offered their thoughts over the years on the red flags that might hint someone is seeing another person behind your back.
But before jumping to conclusions or pointing fingers, it’s worth being absolutely sure of what you’re dealing with. Accusing someone without evidence could create even bigger problems, especially if they haven’t done anything wrong at all.
That’s why the guidance from a private investigator comes in handy. Tom Martin outlines 20 “giveaway signs” in his book, Seeing Life through Private Eyes.
He starts by highlighting four common signs that are easy to spot. One example is frequent “business trips” that suddenly appear out of nowhere. If this behavior is new, it may be worth paying attention.
Martin also notes that changes in your sex life can sometimes be a clue. While these shifts happen naturally in relationships, he suggests they might still be connected to infidelity in certain cases.
On top of this, he mentions that if your partner becomes defensive over simple questions, it could point toward them hiding something.
He also recommends taking note if they start staying late at work far more than usual, especially if this wasn’t common before.
And those signs are only the beginning, as Martin goes on to list 20 behaviors to keep in mind if you suspect something is off.
These are:
- Sudden change of habits
- Leaving home early and coming back late
- Numerous business trips
- Questionable holiday or family event absences
- A noticeable increase in overtime
- Unexplained spending
- Secret social media accounts
- Hidden credit card bills
- Excessive grooming or self-care
- Smelling like someone else
- Buying presents you haven't seen
- Items that can't be explained - e.g. condoms in the car
- Suddenly joining a gym
- Missed calls from an unknown number
- Text messages that appear coded or secretive
- Less sex
- Evasiveness or defensiveness
- They tell obvious lies
- Having a short temper
- Dislike surprise visits (your unexpected arrival may come at an inconvenient time for a cheater)
Martin also points out that while his advice is helpful, private investigators may become less common in the future, as most people now have the tools to look into things themselves if they feel something isn’t right.
"The game has changed drastically," Martin told the Independent. "And technology is 100 per cent the reason why."
