Childfree Wife Forces Husband To Choose When He Suddenly Has To Raise Little Sister After Parents Pass Away

Losing people you love is terrible enough but often sudden deaths in the family can leave people picking up the pieces in their wake. One man took to Reddit with the new responsibility of caring for his little sister now that his parents were gone. the only problem was, that he and his wife had decided to be child-free at the onset of their marriage.

OP said that the two had been married two years when the situation occurred with OP's 11-year-old sister now left in their care. he said he understood that the age gap meant that he would have to step into the role of a father figure rather than just being a brother from here on out.

He said that his father, presumably their only living parent had passed away from pancreatic cancer some time ago. While OP's uncle was ready to take on the responsibility, his sister chose him to stay with.

OP and his wife had not planned on having children so the sudden arrival of his young sister threw a wrench in their plans. OP's wife was not on board with formally adopting his sister as their child.
